Join us! Ostružina and Core Dance present Global Water Dances 2025 in Prague.
Children from Ateliér Ostružina and Primary School Umělecká, are taking part in an international event for the visibility and protection of WATER on June 14, 2025, in Royal Game Reserve Stromovka.

Ateliér Ostružina, in collaboration with Core Dance, is participating in the international, participatory event Global Water Dances—a unique occasion that connects dance, art, and ecology. This global dance will be performed on the same day at more than 120 locations around the world! Global Water Dances is a biennial project that unites artists and communities across continents. Its mission is to raise awareness about the importance of water and the environment through dance in public spaces.

  • “Water on our planet is a giver of life. But it is also a limited resource. Its quantity is finite, and we as humans now significantly influence how accessible or inaccessible it will be. We have become part of ancient natural cycles—the large and small water cycles—and we can choose whether we help preserve them or endanger them through our actions. And this is not just a decision for nature, but primarily for the survival of our human civilization. It is therefore important to respect water, protect it, and use it wisely so that we can continue to draw from its infinite life-giving power.”
Tereza Vohryzková, Adaptation Coordinator, Association Krajinohled
  • “All the water on Earth is part of a vast system that existed long before we were born and will continue to exist long after. Water is constantly moving. It travels between seas, lakes, groundwater, clouds—from the beginning of time until today. The same water flows through every tree, fish, and insect. It flows through you and me.”
“Rivers reflect everything that happens around them. But what if their surface is covered with trash and oil spills? Will we still see anything in them?”
from the book “What Is a River?” by Monika Vaicenavičienė
  • To flow, foam, drip, ripple, freeze, crunch, condense, stream, evaporate, snow, rain, boil, splash, trickle, fall, spring, flood, kill, dry up, drown, bubble, crash, plop, pour, overflow, warm up, soak in, chill, swirl, squirt – these verbs of water inspire young creators to dance and movement. And how does water move within us? Dance connects our bodies and shifts our relationship to the water around us.

ABOUT STROMOVKA PARK
Stromovka is a green oasis in the heart of the city, with ponds, mature trees, and grassy areas. It was established in the 13th century as a Royal Game Reserve. The Rudolf Aqueduct, built in the 16th century, still brings water from the Vltava River into the park. Stromovka is a protected natural monument and an important ecological and recreational area, where the ponds support endangered species and retain rainwater. At the same time, they help drain the park’s lowest point during heavy rainfall.
